Celestially Cosmic

It’s amazing how some beautiful creatures and views can make you feel so small. This isn’t even in relation to confidence levels. It’s about being witness to such beauty that you’re reminded how small and insignificant you can be in the grand scheme of things. It reminded me that there’s so much more to life than our existence here in Earth – that despite the beauty at eye level, even greater beauty exists when we look up.

A Jamaican Suburban Girl Tree

My roots go deep and are plentiful. My trunk and body is just as strong as it is delicate. My branches remind me of my hair – plentiful, strong but also delicate. I go through the seasons and sadly I’m not evergreen. I have dry moments and I have flourishing moments. But the base of my tree?? the top soil – that section of my being is rich and can sprout freshness despite whatever is happening up top. With all of that, I am beautiful in any stage of my life. I am Black and I am beautiful.

Being An Optimist And Changing The World

I am one of many. So, to say that I change the world or positively impact the world by myself as part of Optimist International would be a gross injustice to what we believe. It’s a collective effort.

My Place(s) Of Solitude

When you get sick or drop down and pass away, the people in your life will eventually move on (some more than others) and the list of to-do’s will either sit and gather dust or be passed on to someone else. Take your breaks and identify your spaces of solitude. Use your moments of solitude to get your mind right for you. Sometimes all you need to do that is take a nap or absent-mindedness watch something on a screen. For crying out loud, do not answer your phone in these moments. Resist the urge to be reachable 24/7.

The Best Parts Can Also Be Toxic If You’re Not Careful

Whatever the best parts of you are, always remember that you need to get from it as much as the world does or perhaps even more. Never let the best parts of who you are go to others who will mismanage and manipulate. You are the top priority here. The rest is secondary.

Ant Strength

Even the strongest have extremely weak moments. Don’t let the external appearance fool you.

A Manifestation of Dreams

We must believe in the power of our dreams. If our desires are but a small thought with underdeveloped ideas and plans, keep the fire burning and feed your desires. Turn those desires into passions and keep working at them. Be positively consistent. If you fall off, don’t stay off. Embed it in your brain and engrave it on your heart like you would some other surface. Live a purposeful life and it is almost guaranteed that you will see your dreams come true.

Interview With A Vampire

If you think about it, that’s how most of us are. We like to have control over the things we want to control and we all have parts of ourselves and our world that triggers the insecure character traits. Nothing is wrong with that.

A Wild Thing Doesn’t Feel Sorry For Itself

“I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself.” So, why should humans, the lesser known ‘wild things ever muster up the audacious entitlement to ever feel sorry for ourselves?

Why Time Travel?

There’s no time like now for me to live and experience what life has to offer. Why travel back in time to experience the injustices of life and the unfair treatment meted out in human-to-human disputes? There’s enough of that happening now.

Picture Perfect

No matter what image you have of yourself, others will see something else. It may be similar, but it won’t be identical. Why? Well, people’s perception of you differs. Don’t get your panties up in a knot wondering what people see when they look at you. Yeah, it’s true, you will only see a reflection of yourself because that’s how we were made…to only see our own reflection. However, the view others have of you from images that capture will always be a sight to behold. Make it worth your while and their while.

Where Do Some People Find The Audacity? | A Mystery

Do away with victim shaming and blaming. A victim never asks to be assaulted, attacked or killed. Check your perpetrators and hold them accountable. Stop channelling your energies in the wrong direction.

Reading Maketh A Jamaican Suburban Girl 📚

Because I want to improve myself as an individual and also as a professional, I have set a goal of 20 books for the calendar year. That’s manageable, right? I think so. I know as well that the more I read, the greater the chances of improved vocabulary, writing style and imaginative creativity.

Sixth sense to the umpteenth power

I’d love to be able to tap more into my sixth sense and actually know what’s coming so that I may prepare and know how to handle it. I’d also love to prepare and brace for it to happen. That’s all I want.

Inclusivity: The Disabled/Special Needs Community

The language we use is important. However, we must delve deeper into the nitty-gritty of it all. Action and ‘not a bag a mout’ is how we truly effect inclusivity for the special needs community.

Ideally: A Good Date

After writing all of that, I feel like I described a series of potential date ideas for a potential suitor. So, instead of ideal day, I inadvertently changed it to an ideal date. Ha! Take notes, gentlemen. 😂. Don’t be boring or predictable.

Synchronicity: My voice, facial expressions and the emojis I use

I will end here to say that though the use of emojis is part of the everyday “texter’s” life, we cannot depend solely on emojis to depict true emotions and feelings or even to carry a conversation. We need our voices. In some cases, we need body language, facial expressions, and we also need comprehension of intended meanings.
