Listening To The Musical ‘Stylings’ Of…

Bloganuary Day 28.

Dear World,

So, I’d say that my musical taste is eclectic at best. With the range that I enjoy, you’ll find yourself up in the clouds, grounded, below sea level and stuck in a space of uncertainty.

Now that I’ve gotten that out the way, please allow me to share with you a few of my favourite songs and artistes in my ‘favourites’ playlist.

There’s:

Masicka – Suicide Note

Masicka – Ultimate

Masicka – Update

Queen – Hammer to Fall

Queen – I Want To Break Free

Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody

BTS – Butter

Joyce Olong – Outta Town

Popcaan – My Type

Lxandra – Swimming Pools

FaceSoul – Grow (A Colors Encore)

Sinéad O’Connor – Nothing Compares 2U

Green Day – Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Sade – Pearls

Boyz II Men – It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday

Mali Music – Johnny and Donna

Mali Music – Heavy Love

You may or may not have heard when Bob Marley said, “Hit me with music, you feel no pain” in the hit song, Trench Town Rock.

That’s the relationship I have with music. I spoke about it briefly in my post saying I wish I could sing. Yeah. As much as I love music and consume it, I cannot sing. Such a bummer. Either way, music is therapeutic and orgasmic in one, for me. Music has unspeakable healing powers, motivational powers and ‘zone all the way out’ powers. I love music.

Writing this has got me thinking about additional songs and artistes I haven’t listened to in a while. I’m talking about Sade, Brian McKnight, Green Day, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Sam Cooke, Tupac, Alanis Morissette and a few more. Let’s just say that I’m about to do a head dive into this musical rabbit hole.

How does music make you feel and what are some of the tracks or who are some of the musicians that you have on a playlist?

*I’d also like to state that the videos I’ve embedded are purely for entertainment purposes only. It’s me sharing the work of some of my favourite artistes. Legal gods with fairy dust…please I beg you. Don’t penalise me or my blog for sharing the works.

Signed with love,

The Suburban Girl JA
