It’s okay if you didn’t achieve all your 2021 goals

Blogmas 2021 | 12 Days of Christmas | Day 2

Dear World,

Your existence will not cease if you didn’t achieve all your 2021 goals. Like, you have tomorrow, the next month and however much longer you’re destined to be on the earth to achieve them.

As long as you have breath, a free-thinking mind and the will to achieve your goals, you can most definitely achieve whatever goals you have.

Say it with me…

Being delayed does not mean that you’re being denied. It’s more of a redirection.

I find as well that most people tend to judge the current point of their journey against the journey of another person. Stop trying to copy and cheat in this here test we call life.

Your test paper will be different. Perhaps some principles are the same – but your penmanship is different, how you express your thoughts is different. The time you start the exam and end it is also different. Let’s not even get into the times you look away from the test paper and out into space. You zone out differently than the other person.

My point here is that how you approach your life and all that it brings is not the same when compared to another person. As such, stop using that measuring stick. In fact, throw it away!

Your journey to buying your first car – for example – will have different stories than the person who’s already gone through two cars.

Side note – the word for this entry should probably be “different”. I’ve lost track of the “different” counter.

Back to what I was saying.

You may not have achieved some of your goals as yet because you have other assignments to complete first. It could also be that you’re lazy or not motivated enough – don’t get it twisted. However, there’s a reason. The onus is on you to perhaps revisit your execution plan or even change the goal all together. Does your life’s trajectory lead to this particular goal? Does it synch? Does it add up? Think on these things. Cause, sometimes, we craft our goals and objectives out of jealousy and “badmine/badmind”. And, if we do that, failure is the only end in sight.

If your goal does not serve you in becoming a better version of your current self, throw it away and go back to the vision board/drawing board. If it aligns well, just be patient. What comes quickly for others is for them and not for you. Focus on your situation and know that if you work towards achieving the goal then it will come.

Be different and stop the watching of the other people. Your goal attainment is coming. Trust me.

*These thoughts are my own and they’re not necessarily supported by empirical evidence. Great, glad to have gotten that out the way.

Okay, bye.

Signed with love,

The Suburban Girl JA
