A Manifestation of Dreams

We must believe in the power of our dreams. If our desires are but a small thought with underdeveloped ideas and plans, keep the fire burning and feed your desires. Turn those desires into passions and keep working at them. Be positively consistent. If you fall off, don’t stay off. Embed it in your brain and engrave it on your heart like you would some other surface. Live a purposeful life and it is almost guaranteed that you will see your dreams come true.

I used to seek inspiration from other people and then I stopped

I used to have a list of people who inspired me. However, little by little, I noticed characteristics that I didn’t like. Little by little, I would’ve gotten into disagreements with them and based on how they handled the situations, my mindset towards them changed.

Boost Yourself The Same Way You Boost Your Friends

Though it’s nice to know that there are people in your corner and having those people boost you just as much as you root for them, you cheering for you is also nice. You cheering for your wins and moments of greatness or moments when you need a push is also amazing.

People will judge you no matter what decision you make

Everyone has an opinion. Some will use their opinion to help guide you, support you and cheer you on. Others will give their opinions with ill will in their hearts and minds. It’s kinda hard to maneuver but you have to figure it out somehow.

It’s okay if you didn’t achieve all your 2021 goals

You may not have achieved some of your goals as yet because you have other assignments to complete first.  It could also be that you’re lazy or not motivated enough – don’t get it twisted. However, there’s a reason.  The onus is on you to perhaps revist your execution plan or even change the goal all together. Does your life’s trajectory lead to this particular goal? Does it synch? Does it add up? Think on these things. Cause, sometimes, we craft our goals and objectives out of jealousy and “badmine/badmind”. And, if we do that, failure is the only end in sight

Present your best self

This version of yourself could only be 10% on a given day if that’s all can do – that’s okay.

Give the best of that 10%. However, work towards improving on it to get to 100%.

Work from Home | My neighbour cut his lawn

You have the power over how you complete your tasks for work. Are you seriously gonna allow a lawnmower and a weedwhacker to negatively impact your work?
I doubt it.
You know you have these tasks to complete and so you will find a way to get it done despite the noise around you.

Love Letter #71 | Burnt Popcorn

Go for those goals and live your dreams. The dreams probably won’t pop on the first or second try and you may burn a certain vision of your dreams by allowing it to stay on the same rotating surface.

Love Letter #68 |Blackness

Our blackness goes way beyond our ancestors being enslaved. It goes way beyond the enslaved mentality. It goes way beyond our complexion. It is about honouring the past of hurt but it is also about embracing the talent, the artistry, the brilliance and the overall beauty of people who are black.

We are Queens and we are Kings and we are beautiful.

We must teach our children about more than just a laundry list of iconic black people. We owe it to them.

Love Letter #62 | I Almost Missed the Bus

Never become lazy because you know that other options are there. Work towards the first option first and then … if that doesn’t work, you consider the others.

Love Letter #60 | Hot Soup

Multitasking is not efficient. All it does is segment the fullness of your attention and leaves you attempting to complete multiple tasks at once. If you focus on one thing at a time, your efficiency and productivity will improve.

Love Letter #59 | PTSD After Falling In the Pedestrian Crossing

As we start 2020, let us not focus on the negatives that slowed our progress. Let us, instead, focus on how we use trauma to push us into greater dealings.
May this new year find you or direct you in and towards greatness. May this new year see us conwuering fears, getting over hurdles and brushing that dirt off.

Let us not become victims of our hurt. Let us, instead, be triumphant.

Happy New Year.
