Because I want to improve myself as an individual and also as a professional, I have set a goal of 20 books for the calendar year. That’s manageable, right? I think so. I know as well that the more I read, the greater the chances of improved vocabulary, writing style and imaginative creativity.
Advice to my teenage self
Speaking of those who tease and pick at you: people like them show up at every stage of your life. Yep, even as an adult, you’ll come face to face with them. But guess what, you’ll be secure enough to know how to navigate them and their messy ways. Truth be told, somewhere along their journey, they were hurt and they project their hurt onto you. Love them, give them grace…but don’t allow them close to your heart.
Reflect, evaluate, re-evaluate and relax in the face of uncertainty as a new chapter starts
Think of this moment as if you were restructuring a business that’s special to you. In order to properly restructure, you have to audit and review what’s been done to know where to go and how to go about your new whereabouts. But for right now, let’s just reflect and rest.
If you commit to something, follow through!
Following through on your commitments and promises adds character to your reputation. It tells the world that you get shit done. It tells the world that you are reliable and dependable. It means that your business dealings will have a greater chance of flourishing. It means that you’re serious about keeping your word. It means that you will hold yourself and other persons accountable.
