Dear World (especially those from the land of the Pixie Cups),
I did the unthinkable, the unfathomable. I’m quite ashamed to admit this. It’s quite blasphemous even.
Sigh
I cheated on my Pixie Cup. Horrible, I know.
After getting the hang of using this amazing item as part of my “feminine health care”, I got lazy. My period had come and I realized that I still had some tampons and pads on deck so I reached for them for every day of my period.
It felt wrong but falling back into old habits can be the easiest thing — especially if a new practice hasn’t been woven into your strict regime.
Though the fall back was way too easy, I felt uncomfortable. Having to be concerned about leaks from a pad or toxic shock syndrome from a tampon was exhausting! The worst part was the hassle of proper disposal in the trash.
With a Pixie Cup, the only concern is proper insertion, going about my day and dumping the potentially bio-hazardous waste while I take a shower. It really is a 1-2-3 process.
That other method or series of methods with using pads and tampons forces me to overexert myself too much. I don’t like that.
If I had stuck with my Pixie Cup for that particular period, my life would’ve been so much easier.
After all that, yours truly revisited her Pixie Cup. I gave it a nice warm bath to soak in and get sterilized, allowed it to dry, gave it a heart-warming “I’m sorry” speech and I haven’t looked back since. Building this new habit has been a hill and gully, roller coaster, round the way journey but some of the best life practices come with actual practice and repetition.
I relearned some basic lessons in this experience and I’d love to share them with you.
Lessons learned after cheating on my Pixie Cup
1. Old habits die hard but if you make a commitment to a new, more safe and bio-friendly habit, it will be worth it.
2. It takes a while to include a new habit into your regimen. Cheating by reverting to the old and comfortable is not a bad thing. It means that you are human.
3. If reverting to old habits shows you that the new habit works out better, then you're on the right path to positive change.

I myself have habits that I’ve tried countless times to get past. However, your right it’s hard especially knowing it’s a practice that you’ve been doing for years. But I think the whole point of this letter is not to beat yourself up about falling short/messing up but to acknowledge it. Continue to push cause at the end it’s worth it. It makes life or that cycle….lol less stressful. Congrats on the partnership cuz.
